As you may be aware, we run the Dublin Juvenile Open every year on the October Bank Holiday weekend. It is open to all ages up to U17.

This years event is taking place on 29/30 October in Terenure College.

Entries are now open on Tournament Software.

Total beginners are welcome to play in the league too.

Due to a high demand of club membership and a nearly 100% return of last year’s players, a waiting list will be put in effect to cope with the demand.

New applicants are invited to express their interest and contact CBCd15@gmail.com to be added to the waiting list.

Unfortunately, the club is full at present and does not have the capacity to accept new members.

The 2nd Whitehall Road Junior Badminton Open tournament is on the weekend of the 27th and 28th of August 2016.

On Saturday the 27th of August the under 12 and under 16 tournament will be played. On Sunday the 28th of August the under 14 and under 18 tournament will be played.

This is a round robin tournament in the initial phases,so that everyone who enters  gets at least 2 matches, but more likely depending on entry three or four matches. Last year we were able to get a lot of round robin groups of five, so everyone got four matches.

In the knockout latter stages of the tournament the scoring system will revert to the traditional best of three games to 21 points.

The tournament is an under 12, under 14, under 16 and under 18 tournament. We are following the Badminton Ireland rules on under age badminton which is essentially no change from last year.

Due to the round robin format of the tournament, there will be no Mixed doubles played in this tournament.
